What works for your body?
Most exercises and stretches don’t work for most people. Our bodies are unique and particular. They require individual adjustments to make exercises and stretches safe and effective. In order to choose the right exercises and stretches for you, and to make the appropriate adjustments, we have to track how your body is responding. Where do you feel sensation? Are you feeling a muscle burn? Do you feel anything in your joints? (That’s never a good sign, by the way.) In an exercise, is the targeted muscle working? In a stretch, is the targeted muscle relaxing or is it backfiring?
All of these questions take time to answer. Once you understand what works for your body, taking care of your body, building your strength and releasing your tension will be something you enjoy, not something you endure.
