Maya Jocelyn

Maya’s life-long exploration of health, healing, movement and chronic pain evolved into a technique called JATi (zhah-TEE). JATi develops your core to be the power center of your body and simultaneously supports your recovery from chronic pain and injuries. The JATi Technique strengthens your midsection (core, hips and glutes) while protecting your joints (knees, low back, neck, shoulders and wrists).

Maya started dancing when she was five years old. At 18, she had her first injury, an ankle sprain that led to an avalanche of injuries including severe chronic low back pain that lasted almost 20 years. Maya spent two decades searching for healing. Her studies include a BFA in Modern Dance at SUNY Purchase, Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, National Academy of Sports Medicine, Pilates International and Annette Lang.

Maya opened Studio Maya in 2010 to help people develop their strength and understand their pain, to be a guide though that labyrinth with the hope that everyone find ways to enjoy their bodies.
